The cluster currently has nine PCs in 448 and 475 Birge. There are also several privately owned computers that are part of cluster but which are not meant for general logins. Below are the brief specifications of lab PCs:

All of the lab computers currently run CentOS 5 operating system. In addition, approximately 15 personal computers in faculty and student offices are part of this cluster. Let us know if you would like to add your PC to our cluster. We generally take over all or most of the management for PCs that are part of the cluster. The benefits include regular operating system upgrades, prompt security updates, the availability various software packages together with paid licenses for them, and general user support.

  • Printers

Our primary printer is the HP LaserJet 4015x in 448 Birge. The queue name is asteroid, and this is the default queue for most applications unless you manually choose some other queue. This queue is for printing on both sides of paper sheets. If you need to print a document on a single side, then select the queue "asteroid1".
